A few months ago, tragedy struck.Your love died and now you're all alone. You've had a hard time accepting the factthat they'll never, ever come home.
Then harmless it starts, just a minor fear,so you take a peek under your bed.A glance for a corpse or a ghostly face,"But it's just a quirk!" you said.
Steadily though, paranoia grows, each night waking in a cold sweat.Searching the corners, every shadow and nook, for some invisible threat.
And when you go out you feel eyes on your back, someone or something lurks nearby. You look and he's gone, but never for long, only seen from the edge of your eye.
Soon you don't leave, you don't write, you don't call.Your friends are forgetting your face. You draw the shades tight, every day, every night, alone and locked up in your place.
Slowly you realize, you're losing your mind, not knowing what's false or true. But it's not some haunting spirit that frights, the terror, it comes from you.
